A. Poppy Goudsmit is an associate who has been with the firm since 2007. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan (BA, 1995) and Wayne State University Law School (JD, 2000, LLM Corporate Finance, 2006).
Ms. Goudsmit’s practice with Foster Meadows has been devoted principally to litigation of personal injury and property damage claims involving railroads, marinas, marine accidents, and other transportation issues. Other substantive areas of practice include estate planning, asbestos litigation, and general transportation law.
Ms. Goudsmit has significant experience litigating complex intellectual property issues including trade secret, copyright and licensing disputes. She has also litigated employment discrimination cases and arbitrated multiple employee severance disputes with a Fortune 100 company.
Poppy is an active Board Member and Officer of Vision Builders, a 501 (c)(3) charity dedicated to creating and providing access to education for children in the most impoverished regions of the world. As such, she has gained hands on practical and legal expertise in handling issues involving non-profits.
Ms. Goudsmit is admitted to practice law in the State of Michigan, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is a member of the Washtenaw County Bar Association, and the Michigan Bar.
